Keeping Memory

I have lived in Cairo since August 28th, and after traveling to three other countries, encountering four different languages, falling in love, hitting bottom, and learning new things everyday; I have neglected to write anything down. Sure, I have kept a journal, but a minute of absentmindedness when leaving a black & white cab took care of those memories. This does not mean I do not have them anymore. I feel that through writing, getting my hands typing after I look at old photographs from this academic year, will dredge up these adventures, and with a little bit of fuzziness and some inevitable exaggeration (come on, they have to be dramatic and funny), I can finally show anyone what has happened here. I can show you, even you, exasperating times, contemptuous times , but what I want to show you most are the enjoyable ones. There have been plenty of those in this huge, dirty, and overcrowded city.
